Its chief executive officer Datin, Paduka Norazlina Zakaria described the awards as a recognition of the company’s business activities.

“This is the first time Worldwide was nominated for SEBA2016 and took home three awards. We are very proud that our team’s commitment to become an icon in the business is recognised,” she told reporters after the ceremony here last night.

She said Worldwide Holdings was a leader in the protection of the environment as it regulated 87 per cent of waste disposal in Selangor.

“Our effort to produce new ideas in protecting the environment, especially in processing industrial waste into energy sources, is a success,” she added.

She said about 6,000 tonnes of garbage generated daily in Selangor were being handled by the company, and due to shortage of garbage disposal areas, the company was exploring new ways to overcome the problem.

On property development, she said being 26 years in the business, Worldwide Holdings was on the lookout for opportunities to enhance its potentials.

“Due to the sluggish housing industry, we are striving to get other projects, while increasing our land bank to give us the edge in the long run,” she said.

Norazlina said the company would continue enhance its corporate social responsibility, including by building more quality affordable homes.

She said Worldwide Holdings would focus on CSR initiatives that could bring impact on the society through economic, social, environmental and sporting activities.
