WORLDWIDE HOLDINGS AND UAE’S MASDAR INK MOU TO DEVELOP RE PROJECTS IN SELANGOR

Abu Dhabi, 25th April 2024 – Worldwide Holdings Berhad (WHB), a Selangor-state-linked conglomerate, and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) clean energy powerhouse, have formalized their partnership for the development of 1 gigawatt (GW) of RE projects in Selangor.

The agreement was sealed today with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by Datin Paduka Norazlina Zakaria, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WHB, and Abdulaziz Alobaidli, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Masdar, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ceremony was graced by the presence of YB Tuan Ir. Izham Hashim, the Selangor State Exco for Public Infrastructure and Agro-Based Industry, representing the State Government of Selangor, on behalf of YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin bin Shari, the Chief Minister of Selangor, and witnessed by Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Masdar Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Potential areas of collaboration between WHB and Masdar include the development of renewable energy projects in Selangor, focusing on technologies such as floating solar, ground-mounted solar, rooftop solar, hydro and hybrid systems.
