WHB CELEBRATE 2 MILLION SAFE MAN-HOURS WITHOUT LOST TIME INJURY (LTI) FOR THE WTE PLANT 1 & 2 IN JERAM


JERAM, 23 June 2025 - Worldwide Holdings Berhad, together with its EPCC contractor Shanghai Electric, has successfully recorded 2 million safe man-hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) at the Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Plant 1 & 2 in Jeram. This is a significant milestone that reflects the highest standards of safety and operational discipline.

This accomplishment, achieved on one of Malaysia’s most complex infrastructure projects, underscores the team’s commitment to a strong safety culture and engineering excellence. As the largest facility of its kind in the country, the Jeram WTE plant plays a central role in advancing Selangor’s vision for a sustainable and integrated solid waste management system.

The safety milestone was officially recognized during a ceremony attended by YBhg. Dato' Johary Anuar, Selangor Deputy State Secretary (Development); Datin Paduka Norazlina Zakaria, Group Chief Executive Officer of Worldwide Holdings Berhad; and Mr. Chen Hao, General Manager of the Asia-Pacific Region at Shanghai Electric Corporation. The event also featured the presentation of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Awards to team members whose dedication and performance have been instrumental in achieving this record.
