WORLDWIDE HOLDINGS AND DYNAC GROUP SIGN MOU TO COLLABORATE ON POWER SUPPLY PROJECT FOR CYBERJAYA

Shah Alam, 9 December 2022 – Worldwide Holdings Berhad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dynac Sdn Bhd, on a proposed collaboration in relation to the development of power supply project for Cyberjaya, with a focus on clean fuels and green products. The MoU was signed by the Group CEO of Worldwide Holdings Berhad, Datin Paduka Norazlina Zakaria and Group CEO of Dynac Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Haji Md Jasman Bongkek at DoubleTree by Hilton Shah Alam i-City, witnessed by Selangor Menteri Besar, Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.

Cyberjaya, located 30 kilometres south of Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur is a well renowned science, technology and innovation hub with low density development revolving around green reserves and an excellent infrastructure. The commercial buildings in Cyberjaya are designed specifically to serve all the physical needs of ICT and technology companies. The MoU recognizes that cooperation in transitioning to cleaner energy not only delivers mutual benefits but is also required for the prosperity of the community in the locality, as it revolves around the development of mini power generation project and renewable energy initiatives for Cyberjaya. The epicentre of this collaboration is a large-scale solar park, designed in harmony with the current landscape and natural surroundings of its development area.

According to Datin Paduka Norazlina, “With ASEAN on track to become a USD $1 trillion digital economy by 2030 and the region’s emergence as an innovation powerhouse, Worldwide Holdings and Dynac are committed to accelerating businesses to the future, and we believe that our collaboration will support Selangor, the most populous and developed state in Malaysia, to strengthen the implementation of their digital roadmaps, especially in Cyberjaya, the pioneer technology hub of Malaysia.” Dato’ Hj Md Jasman adds “With environment, sustainability and governance becoming major focus of global businesses nowadays, both Dynac and Worldwide Holdings share the same interest in making Cyberjaya, the nucleus for the development of Malaysia's Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), a competitive and attractive location for ICT players, locally and globally.”

This joint effort by Worldwide Holdings and Dynac that is expected to come to fruition by middle of 2024 is also in line with the three main objectives of Smart Selangor programme which are liveability, economic productivity and environmental sustainability, by bolstering Cyberjaya’s growth as a burgeoning, vibrant and globally recognised smart city and an attractive digital economy hub with world class infrastructure, capable to compete with other similar hubs in the ASEAN region.
