SIJANGKANG, 18 JULY 2026 - In conjunction with World Environment Day, Worldwide Holdings Berhad (WHB)—through its Environment Division alongside the Group Corporate Communications and Sustainability Division—served as a strategic partner with the Selangor Department of Environment (JAS Selangor) in a mangrove tree-planting program at the Sijangkang Mangrove Recreational Park, Selangor.
The environmental conservation initiative commenced with the planting of Bakau Kurap (Rhizophora mucronata) saplings, uniting strategic partners in a collective effort to rehabilitate and expand Selangor’s vital coastal mangrove canopy. Mangroves play an indispensable role in Malaysia’s ecosystem, serving as high-capacity carbon sinks and critical natural barriers against coastal erosion.
Representing the company at the event was the General Manager of Project Management (WPMC-WTE), Ir. Mohd Shokri Daud, whose presence underscored WHB’s hands-on commitment to ecological sustainability and biodiversity protection.
